Checking tablets, even under containment conditions – this is achieved by the new Checkmaster CM-X from Fette Compacting. Customers were able experience it in action for the first time at the Powtech 2023 in Nuremberg.
Tablet production precisely under control – the Checkmaster CM-X from mechanical engineering specialist Fette Compacting tests tablets randomly and under level OEB4 containment conditions in interaction with the F10i, F20i and F30i tablet presses of the new i Series. At Powtech in Nuremberg from September 26 to 28, 2023, Fette Compacting presented the tablet tester for the first time to the public for the first time.
HMI data entry prevents errors
The Checkmaster CM-X tests the tablets produced for the parameters weight, diameter, thickness, and breaking strength/hardness. The equipment thus supplements the range of tablet test devices already available.
Via the ergonomic Human-Machine-Interface (HMI) of the new i Series, the Checkmaster CM-X is easy to operate while minimizing the risk of errors, as manual data entry is no longer required. “Operating the Checkmaster CM-X via the HMI terminal of the tablet presses in our new i Series leads to comprehensive data exchanges between the tablet press and the tablet tester,” explains Axel Schroeter, Senior Product Manager.
Features for ultra-precise tests
The new Checkmaster CM-X features SmartFeed, CleanFeed and VibraFix as standard: SmartFeed refers to a new separation system with progressively-controlled chute and automatic slope adjustment. This ensures that only one tablet falls into the test device at a time.
The CleanFeed feature significantly reduces tablet dust inside the Checkmaster. Shielding from the negative pressure of the tablet press during sampling and measurement is automatic.
VibraFix supports the length alignment of the test tablets by precisely positioning and stabilizing them in the device during the breaking strength/hardness test.
Optional functions
Customers can also order the auto-alignment feature, which allows the device to adjust itself to the respective surface. This feature is particularly worthwhile for uneven surfaces or when the machine is often moved. An oblong centering unit (OZB) can also be ordered for tablets of unusual shape. And IQ/OQ documentation is available.
Now available for order
The device can be ordered with immediate effect exclusively through Fette Compacting. The delivery time for the initial series is about six months and will be significantly reduced thereafter.
This equipment was developed by Fette Compacting in collaboration with its long-standing partner Kraemer Elektronik and tested based on production scenarios. “We are pleased by our good collaboration with Kraemer Elektronik. During development of the Checkmaster CM-X, we were able to bundle our expertise to offer our customers convenient and safe handling in the area of containment applications,” emphasizes Lars Plüschau, Vice President Global Sales at Fette Compacting.
